Did this cable work for you? I have the exact same cable and I cannot get it to program my TPMS sensor. I read it could be due to the dongle being on the older firmware not the 2.0.4 firmware and not supporting new protocols. Worked just fine on my 3GS but not my 4GS to program the TPMS. I could read all the data from the car but cannot write any new values.
I'm about to try this weekend. It works on my 2006 GS. I haven't tried on my 2013.
I got to the last screen where it says "WRITE". Click on it, wait 10 seconds and I get an error saying ID Registration failed due to a communication error with the ECU while in Initialization mode.
Terminate initialization by connecting TC and CG of the DLC3 for 30 seconds.

Hmmm.
That's the exact problem I get and from my research it seems like you need a firmware 2.0.4 cable in order to resolve this problem with newer cars. You cannot unfortunately update the existing cable to that firmware because the newer 2.0.4 cable has additional security hardware in there as well.

I read that as well but it seems like firmware 2.0.4 is a hit or miss. I have one more cable on hand. It's a 3-in-1 Toyota/Volvo/JLR, luckily, I have 2 of the 3 vehicles listed. I'm going to give that a try tomorrow. Hopefully with some good results. http://www.obdii365.com/wholesale/ma...a-scanner.html
Can anyone recommend a good TMPS scanner tool? A while back the pressure numbers would randomly stop showing up (seemed like first drive of the day they wouldn't, then would show up the remainder of the day). Now they never show and my tire pressure light is always on. Pressure is fine, but read on here that if the light blinks for a minute after start up, it's a bad sensor. I'd like to identify which sensor and replace myself.
I purchase the Autel Maxitpms ts201 from tirerack.com. It's really basic but it tells you the ID code, PSI, temp and battery condition. The best $50, on sale price, spent. I'm going to play with this on my other GS this weekend since Lexus said one of the batteries is low. I want to see how accurate the battery condition is.
Thanks man. That's exactly what I'm looking for, something basic. I was looking at the ts401 but didnt want to drop $150 on it. Figured I'd ask after seeing this thread. Let us know how it goes finding the sensor with low battery.
brand new OEM denso Pacific sensors for $45 on eBay. I found these https://ebay.to/2Z1TE7v and that seems like normal price and guaranteed to work once programmed. Also found some on Amazon with prime for same price here https://amzn.to/2MbUvgB.
Get a Techstream Cable on eBay and DIY program. https://ebay.to/2qMfZcq, remember to copy down you old sensor ID from Techstream before you program them or else you lose it if you start and dont have the rest. You have to re-register all four at a time.
I have that exact same cable. You cannot write new TPMS sensor values with that cable on the 4th gen GS. Worked just fine for me on my 3rd Gen GS. 4th Gen GS requires a different newer cable with additional security hardware on it. Haven't purchased it yet but have read it should be 2.0.4 firmware cable.

Good news. The Mongoose Toyota/JLR OBDII will write to the ECU. I can only say this for the 2013 model. I don't have a later model I could try on. Well shoot. I have my 2019 UX as well. Link to the cable http://www.obdii365.com/wholesale/ma...a-scanner.html
I tried a couple times with my new set and old set. I reprogram the old set back in.
Thanks MX. Got mine in today and works like a charm. Unfortunately all sensor were okay, meaning there may be something else wrong with the system. Anybody else have that issue?
Also found tmps sensors for 39.99 in case anyone is interested.
Just to update..ordered one of these and it took a month to arrive. The cable driver won't install on a Windows 7 or Windows 10 64bit system..vendor says they recommend Windows 7 32 bit. Anyone else get this to work on a 64bit system, ideally windows 10?

I have mine working on my macbook air using bootcamp to install 32bit windows XP. Just setup a virtual machine on your laptop to run an older 32 bit version of windows.
