It went away with a few applications of the brakes. I could accept the "it's normal" and that it's just some rust on the rotors that needs to get cleared off a bit easier if I had the issue with other cars. Even my previous IS350 never had this issue.

Back when I was going through it there were several other forum members on here with the same issue with OEM brakes.
was it the two piece rotors?

No, AWD so it should be the single piece rotors.

Its the original set of rotors and the car only has 9100 miles. Should I take it to the dealer now? It does go away after a few stops.

DaveB, if you have a garage, try garaging your car overnight and test it in the morning. If you have no noise then it must be the rust being built up on your rotors when you leave your car outside. Which is normal I heard 🤷

My car is parked outside all the time. Only time it will make any noise is if there is heavy rain and I get rust on the rotors. It's also not a sqeaking noise, just just some resistance and scarping sound of the rust. This goes away when I brake once or twice.Otherwise no noise at all from parking outside.

JDR76 - Oh wow, damn. Yeah, these brakes and rotors for the F Sports are really a pain in the ***. I hope my OEM set stays quiet but I will update in 2 weeks.

It's interesting that a lot of owners have this issue and yet I do not. 18 GS 9000 miles with 2 piece rotors with aftermarket pads installed from the day I bought it new. The only reason I went with ceramic was the brake dust issue with the original pads. I wonder if spirited driving and hard braking maybe causes this?! I'm not a spirited driver and not aggressive with my braking. I usually get 50k plus miles out of a front set of pads on average.

It’s been 2 weeks and I can officially confirm OEM rotors, brake pads and shims stopped the squealing noise. My car is super quiet when braking now. Don’t buy and install anything else other than OEM.

what is a brake pad shim? Is it something that goes behind the pad? Is the shim a factory part?
