There's no auto start keyfob. Depending on the system you have you press the lock button 3 times or 2 times and hold the lock.

I installed after market remote start, mines press the lock button 3 times.

For the OEM auto start, you’ll also need an active Enform account with the remote subscription.

Unless you have a 2013 w the factory remote start option, which does not require Enform and works w the key fob (lock, lock, lock, lock-hold). I have one, and it's great.

There are aftermarket options for later years that do the same.

2013 and 2014 did not and can not have the Lexus Enform Remote Start "LER"
They have Lexus Safety Connect and can have Lexus Destination Assist for the
new lower cost of $80/year for S.C. or $160/year for both.

The port or dealer installed Remote Engine Start "RES" or Remote Engine Start plus phone "RES+"
was and is available, about $500 RES or $1000 RES+ with the first year of phone subscription included.
Either version will enable the fob to start the GS using the press/release/press/release/press and hold cadence.
You do not have to pay for the Plus connection to continue using the fob.

2015 GS with Navigation and all subsequent years have the LER system that requires a subscription
after the first year trial period to use the phone OR the fob. The subscription costs have been reduced
from the $249/year original cost to as low as $80/year for the 2018 and 2019 Lexi that have the Safety
Connect basic service free for 120 months, 10 years! (2020's are now 36 months...)

Those with Enform remote start, how many presses do I need to do exactly to start the car with the fob? I tried: Lock, Lock, Lock (Long Press) and sometimes the damn thing won't start and sometimes it does.

Or is it: Lock, Lock, Lock, Lock (Long Press)?

The cadence is a bit fussy, wouldn't want to rummage in your pocket/purse and inadvertently start the car, right?
Usual miscues are not pressing quickly enough or not holding the third press until the cars marker lights flash.
