Default B1443 Vent/Air Servo Error Code

I had this get thrown today.... and basically while I was driving my GS to the airport the air director button stopped working. I couldn't get panel vents to work, but the defrost vent worked so I ran that. I ran carista while I was driving back from my 2nd stop after I had dropped off the passengers I had.... showed a B1443 code.

Once I got to a shopping plaza back home after I finished playing airport taxi, I shut the car off and got some food and came out, and when I started the car back up the dash air vents worked again, I guess it must have reset itself? Everything seems to be back to normal now..... is it typical for this to have an aneurysm once in awhile? or is this something that will likely need service even though it's working now?

If the issue was mechanical - meaning the servo's worm gear got off track or stuck or a damper door got stuck in position - it definitely could correct itself by getting unstuck when you shut the car off. Considering it corrected itself when you shut off the car and then restarted it (which is one of the times when the servo motors and damper doors are active) I'd guess there is a 50-50 chance it won't be a problem again...but there's a equal chance it will show up again.

The A/C might need to be calibrated. You probably remember this thread where the same B1443 code was thrown. What you do not want to happen is for a servo to be replaced.

if this is the same issue i had then I would take it into lexus to have the servo replaced under warrenty. when I went in they said they could look up error history and see it. while I had the car every time it was on passenger side would run hot and drive was cool. when they took it in they said it didn't happen until like a few hours of trying to get it to act up (I call BS, but whatever). so if still under warranty definitely get it replaced before it completely fails

if you're talking about the one that controls dual zone, not yet after it was replaced but I haven't really tested it out to see if it'll get stuck again. I only noticed it a day after having a passenger increase the temp and then i readjusted it and it wasn't cool

I have a 2018 and every once in a while the passenger side would blow hot air even though the system wasn’t in dual mode. I would just turn the car off, then back on when sitting at a light and all was good. But last week it blew hot air for days. I already had an appointment yesterday for an oil change and the KLA campaign so figured I’d have them check out the a/c while it was in the shop. The a/c actually started working fine on Sunday but the dealer said fault codes for both servo motors were found so they replaced both today, under warranty of course. If it happens again I’ll post up on this thread.

Were the actual servos replaced? Most servos are mounted deep within the dash where it is difficult to physically get to and replace the servos. Some vehicles require disassembling a goodly portion of the dash to replace a servo.

Good question. Maybe I’m not reading the repair order correct? Here’s a quick pic.

It says that two servo sub-assemblies were replaced. They must have been fairly easy to get to, unlike many depending on their location.
