So I finally pulled the trigger and purchased the eBay replica Lexon lip, I have seen many horror stories on how these came packaged but I must say this seller out did them selves with the packaging. The lip was surrounded by expanding foam in the box. I plan to put this on soon but have some questions for all that have installed this lip. Did you all just use the 4 mounting tabs and OEM locations to bolt the lip or did you also add self tapping screws in other locations or any 3M tape? Also was thinking of having the lip covered in 3M or Xpel paint protection film to avoid any chips from road dirt..Have any of you done this?

Hey Tarmac,
I have this installed on my 2016 F Sport. I wanted it to be super solid so I did 8 total screws (red circles in attached pic) as well as some 3M double sided tape in the areas with the green lines. It feels pretty sturdy. I've already scrapped a few times (gross I know) but it's held steady. Let me know if you have any additional questions.

Thanks for the info..so for the 2 outer and 2 middle connection points did you use the factory bolts to secure those? and then the other 4 locations self tapping screws? I plan to get it wrapped in Xpel this weekend before I install.

Sorry for the late reply. The only factory bolts that were used were the 2 at the ends of the lip. Everything else was self-tapping screws. I also looked under today to remember what I did and for the middle points, I actually doubled up and put in 2 screws for each connection point. So total screws used were 10. May be over kill but I figured why not, the more screws the better.
Installed the lip, fitment was perfect no issues at all. I would suggest having the car up on a lift to make the install easier. The lip has dimples for the drill locations. The 2 outer locations as @jlai20 marked use the factory bolts, also the 2 middle point use the factory bolts. The 3rd marked locations from the outsides I used plastic rivets and I also added a set of plastic rivets to the center locations.
Caution as a lot of the ebay lips are a single layer of carbon fiber, without any fiberglass backing to make it stronger. The genuine Lexon is backed by 3mm or so of fiberglass. I bought a replica CF lip for my BMW that was backed by fiberglass and it was strong enough to stand on. It took a hit from a big rig tire tread while on the freeway and just cracked a little bit.
