Default 19x10.5

i've been very indecisive on which wheel size i want to get and inbetween 20x10.5 and 19x10.5 does anyone have pics of both? i've seen alot of the 20x10.5 with stretched tire (read alot about rubbing 285 vs 275) but havent seen many stretched 19's. im not looking to stretch per say but was curious to see what my options were as far as going with fattest tire possible on both wheel sizes.

20x10.5 with 285 will rub for sure. You will need to do fender work and custom camber arms if you choose to go that wide. I'm running 20x10 with 275 in the rear and -3° SPC camber arms and I still have minor rub when carrying passengers (my little kids weight nothing). I believe member @dphu626 runs 19x10.5 with 255 tires for stretched look if you want to see what that looks like.

We've done fitments with both 19x10.5 and 20x10.5 but we like to stick to a 10" for proper fitments. The older bodies could handle a 10.5 better, I would recommend a 10 with 265/275

It all comes down to offset, I have had 20x10.5 in the rear one were it almost rubbed and the other not even close but perfect fitment. It is possible to have no rubbing or stretched tires.

ah ok im still new to the whole concept off offsets and stuff because i didnt really have to worry about that on my 4x4 tacoma. i was thinking i wanted a decent amount of meat on the tires but would like a slight stretch so it doesnt look too fat

I have 19x10.5 in the rear, 255/35 tires with no fender work yet. I am lowered on tanabe springs, which I highly recommend if you're going with springs or I also recommend swift springs. I am getting air suspension installed in about 3 weeks and will need the fenders to be shaved. I will post pics later when I get home.

I'm still undecided as far as lowering goes but i was hoping to go as wide as possible as far as tires is concerned. how much stiffer is the tanabe springs? im worried about bottoming out if i have kids in the back as i am a dad. whats your specs on the front? im currently looking at varrstoen es1 19x10.5 in the rear and 19x9.5 in the fronts.

also id like to thank everyone chiming in to help me out. i feel like such a noob and i try to use the search bar as much as i can but im either not finding the proper info im looking for or im just plain retarded and would like to do as much research as i can before touching the GS

The tanabe springs are a tad bit stiffer, I honestly can't tell a difference. I have 19x9.5 +17 in the front, but my wheels don't clear big brakes so I have 13mm spacers. There is quite a bit of wheel poke, but I don't mind it. I had Vossen VFS1 19x9 +22 before and those clear big brakes. I would verify when purchasing the wheels if they clear big brakes.

When you say big brakes are you talking the stock f sport brakes or did you do the BBK?

same spec wheels I am running. Even if you are not lowered as much - I think fender modification will still be needed. The +22 offset is dam aggressive for the 4gs

my previous rear wheels were 19x10 +38 on 275/30 hankook v12 tires and I need a fender roll. I was Running rsr super down springs.

wow that looks like the set up I’m looking for. So you had to roll and shave your fenders? I’m trying my hardest to get a similar look without having to run spacers/shaving fenders

IMHO, lowering springs are a waste of money. Lowering springs are not rated for your stock shocks. Eventually your shocks with leak due to extra stresses it have to endure when using lowering springs not matched for it. Save your money to invest in nice set of coilovers or go air suspension. A nice luxury car such as GS deserves better than just lowering springs..again IMHO.
