This made the most sense to me. When you get the black cover off that’s talked about earlier in this post you will see the round magnet with the plastic sleeve going through it. I had to flip the clock over and tap it a few times to get magnet and sleeve to come out. You will notice the other side of the sleeve has a gear as shown in the pics.
the clock in my GS450H stopped working. I saw a similar post about gluing. I was able to remove the magnet and gear and saved the little washer, it’s bery small and goes in only one way. Concave up. I used a small amount of jb weld clear epoxy on the gear shaft and bottom of magnet and inserted the gear. I let dry overnight and put it all back together. The clock works flawlessly now. I did make sure the small white washer went back in to place the way it should
For those as initially confused as I was, hope the following adds on to the clarity.
this is the rear of the clock, removed from housing
this is the part, that have to carefully wriggle out. Using a torn slim piece of paper, to wedge in between, might help.
once wriggled out, this is the plastic (white) that's loose from the magnet, causing one to rotate slower than the other. Carefully use a wee bit of glue to make sure both are bonded again.
All the best. Thanks again to OP for figuring it out.
