Don't you just glue the nylon gear to the ferrite magnet? Is the shaft supposed to be glued to something? Maybe the clock doesn't work now because the shaft is glued...
@bclexus the shaft with gear is all one tiny part. I did put tiny/micro amount of household glue and let it dry for an hour. Now magnets and plastic shaft/gear is joined together.
I also checked pictures on various post here and confirmed that the white plastic washer is also placed correctly (that never came out of that black cover).
If I remove the gear/magnet assembly then rest of clock mechanism spins very freely, with gear/magnet in place I feel resistance in spinning rest of clock mechanism. I believe that resistance is above the threshold that clock motor can handle. Clock lights up when trying to adjust time forward or backwards but doesn't run at all.
Most likely it is bricked now. I don't think I will replace it with new unit but will keep looking for some used ones come on sale for 30-40 bucks. Called local dealer and it is 300+ dollars with taxes.

Check https://www.amayama.com/ or https://www.megazip.net/ it's over $100 cheaper that USA dealers including shipping. The actual shipping is faster than what they quote, when I ordered parts arrived within a week via dhl.

@peasodos do I need to order UAE version or Japan version? Just wanted to be sure which one would fit my US 2015 GS350 AWD
Local dealer parts manager had told me that he would give get me upto 40% off but I didn't show interest on clock. I picked up oil filter, air filter, cabin filter and Toyota WS fluids plus gaskets for 40% off

There is no UAE version or Japan version, both are exactly the same made in Japan. Those are just the location it ships from. It doesn't matter what part of the world it comes from it's the same exact part number. The reason it's cheaper from UAE warehouse is because they have much more supply than the one in Japan.
First time I did this I bent the shaft a little bit putting it back together. I was able to bend it back and the time is right on since. Even if you think you did it right I would take it apart again and make sure everything is put together properly and that the glue didn’t squeeze out onto something else.

I opened and reassembled 3 times with no luck. Glue was put outside (a very tiny bit) and I let it completely dry for an hour after which it wasn't anymore tacky. I really doubt that glue would have touched something else.
coming weekend, I will try to look at shaft one more time, I pulled out dead straight every time so I don't think it is bent.
I just put my car in the shop for warranty service. My pass side mirror would not go left to right. They ordered a new Actuator, installed it and it works perfect now.
@jgscott - Since your post is not about the Lexus dash clock I presume you meant for your above quoted post about your passenger side mirror to be posted in the 'What did you do to your GS today' thread, right?
You're pretty rough on your mirrors, aren't you? Didn't you just have your drivers side mirror repaired last week?

Took the clock apart and took apart the assembly as described in this thread. The plastic gears were completely detached from the magent, so all it took was a drop of super glue to put them back together to fix the issue. Thanks guys!
My clock was running 30-45mins fast everyday from Dec last year till a week ago.......now it suddenly runs fine......pondering whether i should take the clock apart and do the 'fix'......
