Check out this thread.

Looks like fall of this year or so, but anything is a guess at this point in terms of performance, options, etc.

Yes, there will be some angry people, but there also will be a lot more happy people I've been waiting for the GS350 since I heard about it.

Why feel sorry for me? I've had my 430 since May '05. The 460 is expected to arrive in spring '07. Should I have waited two years for the 460?

The only disppointment I have with Lexus is that the '06 GS lacks the 5th gen nav found in the '06 IS and ES. The new display is nice.

The reality is that something newer and better is already around the corner. My bedroom HDTV purchased last year is already somewhat outdated d/t the 1080p sets. My home computer became somewhat outdated a few months after purchase. Am I upset? Nope, it;'s just the way it is.

I bought my first GS300 back in December '98 and kept it until last May. In those seven years Lexus never substantially upgraded the GS enough to entice me to upgrade. But with the way car technology is rapidly advancing, I could never imagine doing the same with my current GS. My plan is to keep the 430 for a few years and move into something different, be it the GS or LS 460.

I have one question for those that can answer this. I know the 5th gen navigation has better graphics and resolution, but is that the software or is the LCD screen now better as well? Just wondering.

I meant anyone who got those cars in the within the last few months, no one knew about the LS460 and listed models back then. LS460 redesign was actually a shock to me, I was expecting a redesign in a couple years. Its pretty widely rumored that the GS will get a major upgrade in the engine dept upon the debut of the LS460. Now that its confirmed theres no sense in getting one now, unless you want to be instantly outdated

Well, both. You need higher resolution images (unless they were made higher, but unable to display because of an inferior screen on earlier generations), but you absolutely need a higher resolution LCD. Everything else is exactly the same, just improved graphics

I hear you. If the consumer doesn't do his/her homework, they can get royally screwed.

I figured that Lexus wasn't going keep the 4.3 in that new sexy looking car.

Yep, the same can be said for just about any remodeled/refreshed car.

I wonder if Lexus will ever get that nav system that VW is supposedly getting from Google.

That 3D nav thingy is all woo and ahhs for like 5 minutes and then you'll start to miss the 2D mapping where streets are clearly laid out, easily understood at a glance and unobstructed by tall 3D buildings.

Yes, a la Nissan/Infiniti nav systems.
