It is winter now where I live and i just recently switched over to my winter tires (Michelin Pilot Alpin) not sure if this is relevant but thought i should just add that. I feel as if it rattles more than before when I had my summer tires on. It is intermittent so it doesn't happen all the time but occurs enough to get annoyed. I mentioned it to the dealership before when the car was in for service (an oil change) and they didn't hear anything so they couldn't do anything.

I am curious as to whether other members here have experienced this? Please let me know i plan on mentioning it to the dealership again and pushing for a fix.

Thanks much appreciated

So just an update they supposedly replaced the sunroof rack, seals, (i think the weather strip as well) and my car continues to make this rattle so I am going to have to revisit the dealership. I am going to get the paper work sent to me on Monday as they didn't seem to have it ready for me today for some odd reason( which makes me even wonder if they actually did the work LOL). Pretty annoyed right now as they assured me they didn't hear any more noises after test driving it. I've only got a week left until my basic warranty runs out in which case if it still hasn't been resolved I'll just attempt to fix it myself. Any idea's as to what it could possibly be?

Thanks for all your help!

So it seems that the problem isn't from the sunroof anymore and that was just one of the rattles. Lexus seems to think it may be caused by the weather strips around the door. They are going to clean it and then see if anything changes otherwise ill have to come back.

The mystery continues...

Recently noticed my front passenger window doesn't roll down smoothly for the first 4-5m going down, it shakes and rattles/vibrates, it's completely smooth once it gets passed this initial hump, going back up seems to be normal too.

any ideas what may be causing this?

The window channels/guides could be dry and grabbing on the window. First thing I'd try is spraying some water resistant silicone lubricant down the channels. It's quick, easy, inexpensive and a good preventative maintenance procedure which can reduce stress on the window motor that could lead to premature failure of the motor. It may not fix the problem, but it won't hurt. I hope it helps, it helped me with my driver's side window issue last summer.

Thanks, will give this a shot,

Did this, seemed to have an immediate positive effect, but I noticed the whole door shakes a bit when operating the window while the door is open, not sure if something inside the door could be jammed or catching? Seems better now though will maybe give it some time for the lubricant to do more work, not sure.

Many thanks
