Default Window Roll Up/ Down Stubborness

Hi all...

My driver side window get stubborn to go down and up when it's wet... rain, car wash, etc... Occasionally it'll get too stubborn and flick the relay so I'll have to wait a few seconds for it to cut back on and retry the window.

When it's all dry, no problem.

Anyone know a solution to this? I am assuming it is the rubber gasket that is hanging up the window. I don't have an issue with the passenger window. I was actually thinking of cutting the ***** out, but I may involuntarily be setting myself up for an electrical issue from water if I do that.

I'm with this. It is my passenger window. Perhaps the infamous window regulator?

Awesome I'll just dip my entire door in baby oil lol Any other specifics for us? I think one guy tried that on a 92 and the windows were never the same, as in a consistent to this day haze.

It'ss the rubber window trimming between the door and glass. Usually on the inside. This was what caused my window to get jammed on my drivers side. I just used a knife and trimmed it down a bit

If you use oil or some other lubricant like WD40, it's going to smear. I have tints, too, and certain chemicals could damage it I'm sure...

I'm going to try something when I get around tomorrow and see if it helps before I cut the rubber gasket.... other than that, I hope it can stop raining in MD...

open it up . look around. could be excessive gunk, could be a broken tab on the window regulator ( the white pieces that hold the window.

It's the felt thats on the trim. Over time, its gets worn down and its rubber contacting against the glass window. You could try and put some new felt on there

For me its the rubber parts get dry on the outside because its exposed to weather and sometimes little dirt particles get in there and it acts like a really worn squegee making resistance.
you just want them to clean and soften the rubber and not let it get dry rotted you can use any rubber safe lubricant or even just start with cleaning it with water, dont use wd40 it really doesnt lubricate long term and will get all over the place. I was talking about like a dab of oil and cleaning up the rubber part, You guys are right it will probably smear a little on the outside but your tint is usually on the inside.
Its either that or replace the rubber seals periodically, or your window regulator when it breaks from the excess pressure.

Take the door apart. Use a pressurized can of air to get rid of all the bulit-up gunk and dust. Gibve it a good cleaing. The re-lubricate all the parts that need it with silicone spray you can pick up at a hardware store. Silicone will stay lubricated, and if sprayed carefully shouldnt get everywhere.

..saw this as a DIY somewhere, says it works well, but havent actually tried it myself yet.
