Default Correct fuel for 350


I'm seeing conflicting messages on my fuel cap! Does anybody know which fuel I should be using? I always use 98 octane but with fuel hitting $2 a litre I'd like to try E10, if safe to do so.

Some bloke in the factory though it would be fun to place both stickers on!

E10 just means gas can have up to 10% ethanol. Pretty sure most pumps say fuel has up to 10%. Some are going 15%, doesn’t impact octane rating but generally more ethanol is in winter blends and it’s worse on fuel economy

Where I am only e10 fuel has any ethanol in it (baring e85 of course). Premium fuel is either 95 or 98 octane. Its says to use both...on cars specing fuel, e10 will cause slow timing and damage long term. Quite bizzare

E10 can be 98 octane too (pure ethanol is 113 octane RON but it'll melt your hoses and gaskets). And won't cause damage or slow timing. Only some mileage loss.

I understand this is different in every market(even state to state, which is super weird). Here e10 is 94 octane, however the premium only label refers to a minimum of 95 octane. Using incorrect fuel has voided warranties befire(generally speaking)

Owners manual states recommended octane is 91 [research octane 96] and maximum ethanol is 10%, pages 762-763.

Octane as low as 87 [research octane 91] can be used. Though the manual recommends against it, many owners report no issues with extended usage of lower octane fuel.

This is where things get tricky (for me). Your fuel is labelled by pump octane number. Mine is by research octane number, so your 91 is my 95(which is the premium referenced on the cap door and the manual). Hopefully that explains the discrepancy between manuals.

There’s no way they for someone to prove you’re using a lower octane unless they test what you currently have in tank and it’s lower at that point in time.
funny how I’ve driven 20 miles after my range has hit 0 and the max I fill up is 15.5 gallons . Such a big reserve

So does that mean you can go more than 20 miles? The max I've filled up is like 14 gallons.

I kinda mix between 89 and 91 octane here in sunny CA. We have crappy gas anyways.
91 is approaching $4 gallon.
I don't drive hard and usually in ECO mode.

I believe the computer will retard ignition timing at any sign of detonation.
This ain't my '68 427 Corvette Roadster with points...
