For the guys that installed this. Was there a lot of effort?

I looked at it yesterday and couldn't really put it over the pump. I didn't want to force anything on a Saturday and break something.

Do I have to bend and/or move anything?

2015 GS350

Thanks,

Ed

+1 I'm ready to order the parts, but just want a little more reinforcement that it is worth the effort.

I'm surprised more people aren't interested in this. If anyone has any feedback on a 2015 GS (or newer) it would be great!

Installed the pump covers, on my 2015 GS 350 . Yes , a very tight fit. Did mine on a sunny day, let the covers warm up a bit. Well worth the effort. I'd say it killed the pump noise by about half.

Received the two parts yesterday and just got them installed. It only took a few minutes and was painless. I made two recordings (videos) so you could see and hear the before/after effect. I don't recall there being that much difference in-person, but side-by-side there is quite a reduction in noise. Be advised, my car was cold so the idle was a little higher than normal. In these two video recordings, the AC is set to OFF (so no compressor running).

They each sound like a sewing machine, just with a different tone pitch.

Lol, yep just what I was thinking "a sewing machine". Although reducing the noise is important to me, I realize that other owners have differenet priorities. I would like the car to idle as quietly as possible, so this addition was worth the $30 to me.

It's funny that once upon a time car enthusiasts wanted the mechanical 'sewing machine' sound of solid lifters on a performance overlap camshaft that produced significant lope at idle. Add some Hooker tube headers to get the sound of firecrackers exploding inside thin-walled tubing...and you had an engine that made near-perfect sounds.

Default Just did it

So I bought the the part and installed it. It was pretty easy. I've never worked on cars before. Not even an oil change. All I used was a screwdriver. I definitely noticed a difference. The ticking is a lot fainter. Worth.

Just placed an order for the parts, seems like the car should have had this to begin with. This is my first Lexus and first luxury car but my 2011 Nissan Frontier with a 4.0 V6 was quieter at idle than this beast. Looking forward to the results and will update all with my thoughts.

2015 GS 350

UPDATE: Installed the parts and its definitely quieter. Only removed the intake tube to get access and the install was a snap, less than 10 minutes all in.
