Today I am now having the dreaded "trunk wont open issue" too.

The button (inside and at the trunk) and the key fob does not open the trunk. There is no click of the actuator for either. When I used the key to open the trunk (key hole under the license plate lid), it opened and I was able to access the trunk.
There is barely anything in the trunk (jumper cables in its case and sub visor) so they cant claim something got caught in the mechanism. I don't have any license plate covers or anything like that either.

To me it sounds like a blown fuse or dead solenoid for the trunk.

Made an appointment and will be taking in into the dealer today since I am still under warranty. In addition, I have another leaking front strut. The other side this time.

Well, took it to the dealer. My son had accidentally pushed the valet button in the glove box. Once deactivated, trunk worked fine!:

I realize this thread is many years old. I just wanted to share just in case someone else has this problem and finds this thread.

My GS trunk would not open. Interior trunk release did nothing. No sound either. Trunk key fob button did nothing. No sounds made either. The physical emergency key DID OPEN the trunk.

The Problem?

Just like the poster above me, the valet trunk button in my glove box was pushed. Once I release the glove box button, everything worked perfectly again.

Cheers!

3 hours to remove the back seat is BS.

there are two clips and like 6 bolts to remove the back seats. I have taken them out myself takes 10-15 minutes at the most.

then they can pull the green emergency trunk release. It could be an issue with the latch mechanism. The emergency trunk release pull on the latch part directly, instead of indirectly.

honestly if you open the middle trump pass through you can put a rod with a hook to grab and pull the emergency release without removing the seats. I would take part of a coat hanger duck taped to a broomstick or something like that to grab the release.
