Default Does anyone get GAP insurance for a used car??

I just bought a certified preowned 2014 GS 350 but I turned down the dealer for the GAP insurance and I can't get GAP through my insurance company because they only do GAP for new cars. Does anyone else get GAP insurance on a used GS they bought?

I financed the vehicle through my credit union and its a 2014 GS 350 f-sport. I was able to add GAP insurance through the credit union.

I passed on the GAP insurance from the dealership but added it through my auto insurance since it was a lot cheaper. My insurance just calls it a funky name but it is actually GAP insurance.

I have a L/Certified GS F SPORT 2014 purchased March 2017

I would consider for new, though I haven't purchased before. For used, I decline as I expect a much smaller gap. On the other hand, I do try to drive safely and raise the probability a total loss on the car would be at-fault on somebody else's insurance.

It's also another reason not to buy 'new,' even the insurance companies are telling you that you're overpaying for depreciation.

If I had a lease, I'd seriously consider gap insurance.

I think gap insurance is included in the lease from Lexus Financial.

how much is gap anyways? if it's expensive, maybe car price is too much or more down payment is needed.

if it's low.. just pay for it and make sure there's a big "gap" in the loan/car value.. interest rates are low anyways

I agree. Normally you need GAP if you didn't put enough down. I never allow what I owe to be more than what I could sell it for.
