Default Full coverage or liability insurance?

Are most of you carrying full coverage or liabilty insurance on your GS? I'm really torn over if I should drop to liability coverage on my 98GS4. If the car is stolen/wrecked I'd at least get some of the $$ I've put into the car back. With liability I get nada, but save $35 a month in insurance...

I think the extra $35 a month is worth the full coverage. But if you were gonna save $100 a month..... then I would reconsider it.

If it was A daily GS w/ 200K mls un modded I would do liability. Modded, full coverage.

157k 1998 hardly modded still full coverage here. Couple reasons aside from a total loss accident:
1) if you r the only vehicle involved in the accident
2) if its hit while parked and you dont know who did it
3) if the other person is at fault but doesnt have coverage (uninsured motorist prop damage will save you) provided that you at least got their license plate.
4) with the last one above... Hit and run situations

It doesnt have to be a total loss to be a total pain in the azz for a collision claim.

Comprehensive i go with the lowest deductable of $50:

1) windshield replacement
2) vandism/theft
3) falling objects like a tree limb in a storm

If someone keys my car im getting a new paint job for $50!

I wouldnt go liabilty till a car is under $2500 in value but thats just me.

Default Good question!

Interesting question. If a person has a loan out on the car, collision is a must. I carry full coverage myself, with low deductibles, and will continue to do so unless the car I own was simply a beater like a Taurus I used to own.

On another point, I've seen statistics regarding the percentage of people who drive without any form of insurance as high as 17%. In the end we are all paying for those who choose not to purchase insurance.

That's also a good rule of thumb.

I'm 20 years old, so with no bad marks on my driving record, full coverage is ridiculously expensive for me. I pay liability. If it only cost me $35 more a month for full coverage, I'd probably do it.

Full coverage here... I wouldn't drop it if it was only a savings of $35.

full is also expensive as hell for me..

im wondering though, for those of you with FULL coverage do they cover theft?

would you have to have a reciept of whatever you bought in order to be covered? (i.e. what if you bought parts from Craigslist, ClubLexus, etc.)

Do you just pay deductible in order to redeem cash value on these items?
