shifter question
The 2014 GS 450h has a shift boot.
shift **** with tan stitching: 33504-30420-C1
panel with button opening for EV and snow: 58807-30320
shift boot with tan stitching: 58808-30190-C0
$228.55 on mylparts.com with discount code cl5
I'm contemplating ordering this, since my shift panel is really scratched up from the previous owner and I think the shift boot looks better.

You have to remove the trim around the radio/climate control.
Then unscrew the shift ****, turn counter clockwise.
Then remove the leather piece on the drivers side of the center console.
Then there are two screws on the side of the shifter behind were the leather piece was, remove them
Then remove the passenger side leather piece.
Then just pull up on the entire shifter/nav control panel and it comes out as one piece.
Disconnect the wires attached to it.
Now it's easy to swap the panel and boot with the assembly out of the car.
The whole swap should only take 40 minutes, but I image a dealer would charge an 1 or 2 of labor.
I'm trying to find the part number for the 2016 shift **** with tan stitching.
I think the 2016 shift **** looks better, with the correct stitching color, this guy did that swap:

You have to remove the center shift panel to do the mod. I did this recently when I had to run wires for a wireless screen mirroring setup I have.

Hey I bought the parts and installed the shift boot.
Unfortunately the lights on the left side of the panel that indicate what gear you are in don't light up.
My 2013 450h does not have the lights to indicate what gear you are in, they just all light up.
Also the shift boot bunches up in every gear. After installing this I would rather just replace the original shift panel with a new one. So returning the boot, shift panel, and **** back to the dealership.

When you mentioned the steps earlier in the thread, is this generally what needs to be removed to replace the shift boot (took it from the illuminated door sills instructions):
Update: I followed the second half of the instructions i posted and the instructions posted by fellow member peasados...i started with my current damaged leather shift boot by pulling it down from the shifter **** to unfasten it from the **** (it clips on). Then removed the shifter **** by turning counterclockwise. Then removed the side leather panels from the consoles (they just pop out).
Then, I pulled up on the entire console (carefully) and it popped up its own existing clips. When I turned it over, there was a rectangular plastic piece with two hex screws that was in the way of popping-out the existing shifter boot. Removed those screws and then was able to pop-off the existing boot and replace with the new one. It took me about 30 minutes...
I did replace with the correct 2013 shift boot part number as the shifter boot had beige stitching with matched my Flaxen interior. Big-ups to peasados for the instructions posted previously
