The big difference is that you're in Texas and I am right next to NYC. Parking garages here scuff up bumpers like you wouldn't believe.

Well in these parts of TX we have no concept of dirt, we live on a gigantic slab of granite -- so our dust is actually rock dust to scratch windshields and every one of the million dump trucks on the road is dropping gravel while driving more like a cheap sports car than a truck warning you to stay back 200 feet. .
That, and a few of the ones I saw clearly had an incident with a curb or parking block.
