Default Trunk noise

1) so I went hunting for noise and was able to reduce the fuel door by sticking a wedge on the door. Will add pic.

2) One thing I can't find is the freakn trunk noise. When you close it, it'll be rumbling. When you open it, it's gone. I opened up the cover and started putting soft stuff on things I think are causing the issue. It didn't help. So I decided to turn off the stereo and started slapping the trunk and heard the noise but still can't determine what it is.

I'm looking for help. Open you trunk and slap the trunk (passenger side, right below the tail light). Let me know if you isolate the rattle.

3) I also remove the cover of the license plate light (it rattles there too and it's not needed and you can't see it anyways).

What kind of rumbling noise are you having? Does it happen at a constant rate or when you go over bumps? Cause I know I messed with my trunk liners because I installed coilovers and later on in the future, I started to hear rumbling noises and I thought it was my suspenion, checked everything not it.

Problem was the top of my trunk liner. There are clips that you wanna make sure it's securely fastened and that the liner isn't flapping around either. It came off loose and just started flapping and making noises, hope that helps

It's not that, I have two 12" subwoofer in the trunk and trying to isolate noise. It's not the trunk liner, it's something to do with the what's in between the metal sections of the trunk. Open the trunk and slap just below the lights (the bottom edge of the trunk) repeatedly and you;ll hear rattles. I think it has something to do with the design of the trunk itself.

I was about to ask how the hell you here the rattle from your gas cap and then i read the subwoofer part. I would not use foam expansion in the trunk, try sound deadening film.

I think that would have minimal effect, seems the vibration is due to the joints. I will look into it further.
