Default 30K Service

Heading in this week for service. Getting oil($70), brake fluid($250) and tire rotation(?).

What is everyone's thought of aftermarket filters (Air and Cabin) or using OEM?

I find it hard spending a lot of money for the dealer to do some easy service items like wiper inserts and filters. I can only imagine how much a full 30K service would cost.

Thankfully by this winter I will get rid of the crappy Dunlops.

To each their own. Personally, I'd go to my trusted Indepenent Mechanic(about $150) over going to the dealership (over $400+) for such service. The cost savings will be considerable. You can also take your Lexus to the Toyota dealership and get it done there. (about $120) Your warranty will not be affected if you do not use the Lexus dealership.

You can log the service into your maintenance schedule on the Lexus Drivers website, to keep track of things.

Anyone know the procedure (order) for replacing the brake fluid? Do I need a computer to cycle the abs, or is it pretty straightforward for someone who has done it before? Figure I can do it with high-quality German fluid for about $30.
