When I bought my used car, I noticed some spots on the windows but didn't really pay attention to it. Since then, I have noticed that nothing I do to the windows seems to get rid of the spots on the windows. I took my windows to get tinted and the person mention to me that the spots are because of sprinkler water getting on the windows and not doing a good job at cleaning them.(This is because of the previous owner.) The tint guy mention to me to get some CLR from Home Depot and that should take away the spots on the windows.

My question to the forum is, has anybody else had this problem and what did you do to get rid of the spots on the window? I tried Goo Gone but that didn't do anything.

 

The spots are minerals from hard water and are probably on your paint as well as the windows. 3D Eraser Water Spot Remover works well or the CLR will probably work.

 

Clay bar them. That will take off any surface contamination.

 

I was going to attempt this but wasnt sure if it was going to damage the window more. Thanks for both of the suggestions.

 

clay bar it and u can use car polish also and that would take it off also.

 

No it won't do any damage as long as the clay bar is a new clean one. I used this on all my Lexus cars in the past with no ill effects. There is supposed to be a special water shedding coating on the front side glass but that does not last the life of the car. After a while it looses it's effectiveness. With the problems you are having it's probably already been compromised.
