Default GS arm rest

Test drove a 2015 today and while the car is fantastic, the narrow width of the door arm rest drove me crazy as I kept slipping off. I sat in the LS and RX and the arm rests are normal rather than sloped like the GS. Anyone else bothered by this?

I've noticed it, I don't like it but doesn't bother me too much. I just lean more towards the center console and rest my arm right arm on that. Summer time I will rest left arm out the window.

I've never leaned left...except on a bike.

Your right, It is smaller then in my RX. It is annoying sometimes but I've learned to get use to it. Also mine keeps leaving temporary dents in the padding where my elbow rests right near the window. Takes an hour or so for it to disappear.

I've noticed that and I hate it. I feel like one day the dents aren't going to disappear

Yup, and that's one of the few things I don't like about my GS.

The dents do go away after a while, once you stop leaning on the window sil. I can't be absolutely sure, but the sil in my '15 seems to be made of much harder material that doesn't dent as easily as in my previous '13. Might be my imagination.

I am much more bothered by the center console. When I make a right turn my right elbow keeps bumping into the console. It is manageable on the GS but I was initially going for a 2015 IS250 and I couldn't stand it. This was one of the main reasons I didn't get an iS250.

So I'm not crazy. I don't get the thought process of why the arm rest is the way it is. Darn near ruins the car for me if I can't get comfortable while driving it.

Guys! Talk about first world problems! LoL. I can even imagine people in third world countries complain about "My donkeys skin is so rough when ever I ride her to the next village I am afraid my knee will be skinned up from brushing on her back." Third world problems. Yeah, and were complaining. LoL the GS is by far the most fun/comfortable car ever! And if anyone complains its because they are spoiled rotten.

100% Agree. The door arm rests for the GS along with some of other newer Lexus models like the ES are not only horrendous, but completely worthless in regards to arm/elbow support & comfort.

I was hoping Lexus would change these crappy designed door arm rests for the 2016 GS revamp, but unfortunately they didn't.
