Hmmm...

these Turbos will be ending up at your nearest Car Rental if they don't sell well.

The 200t will end up as loaners. All of them.

The 2011 Infiniti G25 came and went so fast. This probably will as well.

You failed man. Read what I wrote again. I'm talking about an F-Sport package on both the Base GS 200T and Base GS350. I wasn't comparing a GS 200T and a GS350 base. Please read carefully before responding. I don't need to Google pricing. I can just do the estimator online. You should too. You're asinine btw.

Here's the comparison. It saved both my configurations instead of googling it.

GS 200T F-Sport

GS350 F-Sport
You are comparing the fsport gs200t to the fsport gs350 which is the most unfavorable comparison that puts the 200t in the worst possible light showing the narrowest pricing delta which gives the impression that the entire 200t line is close in price to the 350, when that selection is likely the least common comparison among most prospective buyers. As I
stated in another post, most fsport buyers will pick the 350 anyway if they want sportiness and power. The 200t fsport is a teaser or gateway car that invariably forces the shopper to pick the higher priced 350 all the time. It's a pricing tactic to entice you to get the 350 fsport. So yeah, your post was asinine. But no, I would never call you the person asinine, that's a personal attack. But your post most definitely is.

Lexus should focus more on making the GS350 better, new V6 engine perhaps, more color combos, better tech. Instead they are trying to cheapen the car by introducing the 200t. To please who? The ES buyers?

The above post was your original statement. You said nothing about comparing the fsport 200t to fsport 350. Your statement is totally wrong as the 200t is not "about the same price" as the 350, since they are separated by $5000.

In reality, GS 200T and GS350 can be compared because IT"S THE SAME CAR! Still is a GS and will always be a GS. Only difference is the engine. I was only comparing pricing at first but you might as well compare both engines because it's still the same car. And that's my point that the pricing is too narrow. That's what I was suggesting when I first posted it and how buyers because of the same pricing will probably lean towards the GS350 anyways. Not going to sit here and keep going on this back and forth. My bad if I hurt your feelings. I didn't mean it towards you.

I have a RX200t loaner right now. I cannot imagine a GS with that 4 cylinder turbo 228 horsepower engine. Yuk!

My assumption was based on the article talking about an F-Sport. My fault for not including the F-Sport in my original statement. Thanks though.

does anyone else think that introducing the 200t is to meet the government mandate of having a certain average MPG rating for the entire brand's fleet? a quick google search brought me to C&D's page saying cars have to have an average of 37.8 mpg by 2016. lexus doesn't actually expect to sell the 200t's in large numbers but has them available for this reason.

I can buy this reasoning... Or at least I want to.

I'm not really following all the bickering going back & forth about the GS 200T, but I agree with this and it's a valid point/reasoning.

Realistically, no current GS enthusiast would really want to "downgrade" by getting a 2016 GS200T since most think the existing engine is already quite underpowered.

Now if the GS200T was built on a new chasis that was extremely light weight and had that engine, it would be a lot more tempting.

Definitely geared more toward the people looking to move up from an IS 250/350 and into something a bit larger & more luxurious.

P.S. - Discussion is good; personal attacks are not. Let's try to keep things civil since we are all mature, Lexus owners (or potential owners).
