I'm new to the forum and new to the amazing Lexus world. I just picked up my first Lexus this past Saturday and LOVE it so far. I purchased a used 2013 GS350 AWD F Sport with 22k miles. I got an amazing deal on it (I think) but am a little confused with a few things that I see on this model VS. other GS F sports.
-Is the window trim truly black? Every single GS I've seen have chrome window trims?
-The exhaust "tips" on the back are black also. I see paint chipping so I'm assuming the previous owner painted it? Why?! haha!
Anyways - here are a few pics of the new beast. I love her! I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions throughout my journey of owning the vehicle and I look forward to everyone's advice, opinion, and thoughts.

The previous owner modified the window trim, front grille and exhaust tips...and no telling what else.

It should be easy to determine whether it is spray paint of plasti-dip. And then either apply paint remover or pull it off. Be careful to keep any chemical you use off the paint and lower trim.

Whatever they painted the window trim with, is the same as the exhaust tips. Definitely not plasti dip.

I hope not for your sake, but you may have quite a mess on your hands removing the black paint...especially on the window trim and grille if you want to remove it there too. There is no telling what process was used (sanding, etching, priming, etc.), if any, before the paint was applied. Nor do you know what type of paint was used...or whether the finished product was intended to be permanent, or easily removed.
So I decided to try and "scrape" some of the paint of the exhaust and it is plasti dip! Thank goodness. Now the real question is... What's the best way to remove it all?
