Get a check from your insurance company and pay the difference out of pocket. At least then, it is OEM and at lease end they will accept the car. If you replace the glass with OEE, you're out your deductible, and then likely out another $2k to replace the windshield again. At least this way, you're only out your deductible and the difference.

Or you can explain that Lexus will not accept the glass your insurance wants to use, and demand that they use OEM. You'll be out the deductible and possibly your rates may increase a little. If they refuse, start shopping new insurance agents.

I think the windshield has already been replaced...with a non-OE (no Lexus etched logo) windshield. That is the way I understood it anyway...

A little off-topic, but are most of the aftermarket windshields for our cars double panned?

Oh...well then when you take it to drop off, don't mention anything about the windshield.
