Default Interior/Puddle Lights Approaching Car

Started a previous thread but perhaps was not clear. Is the option to have interior foot lights and exterior mirror puddle lights illuminate when approaching a '13 when smart key is in range?

They should illuminate as you walk up to the car. Do yours not? Mine do.

They do not. Perhaps an issue with Carista. I have the "pro" app and elected and saved the option but no go.

I found that most of the time you have to get pretty close to the car before the puddle lights come On.

Tried that also. I think I may contact Carista and if can not get it resolved, will get appt with dealer.

Wow. When said close, I did not take that to be within 1 foot from mirror! Does work but really quite useless because using FOB to unlock doors activates puddle and interior lights anyway.. Thanks for your help.

Yep, you have to get so close before the puddle lights turn On that it is practically worthless. In other words, you've already stepped in the puddle by the time they turn On...

I would much prefer they turn On at [say] 12 feet from any point of the car.

My RX is better at the puddle lights activating then the Gs350 is that's for sure. Yall are right the puddle lights on the GS are useless as they don't illuminate in time.

I have folding mirrors and never use them...they serve as protection from door dings...I would rather my mirror catch a door from another car then my door...

They are cool though

I use my folding mirrors all the time. The come most handy when I'm parking in my garage, and my wife's SUV is already in - I can fold them in while I'm approaching.

It's actually not 1 foot. The puddle lights, doors, and trunk release have a similar sensor. They allow the car to be opened/operate when the key FOB is within 2.3 ft (0.7 m). Still relatively close as others have said.

Test yours out because mine definitely operate within spec.

Mine works well too. Maybe check the battery in your fob?
I'm just glad we have this feature. The NX loan car I had recently didn't have puddle lamps or even door courtesy lights.
