Thats not true. Look above, you get the LED light strip on the base and luxury refreshed car...putting that strip in there is no cheaper than an LED fog lamp, and in fact engineering an LED strip for the US market and a fog for other market costs more than just utilizing the same fog here.

For the pre-refresh 4GS, why have fogs for the base car and the more expensive or similarly expensive luxury car and not the F Sport car if cost is the issue?

There is some reason why they are doing this with the foglight here in the US, and I don't think its cost.

^^ Answer is below.......

Above you can see the Luxury Package US spec still has them equipped.

The issue becomes competitive pricing for the F Sport packaged GS & IS
and Similar deleted equipment amongst US competitor cars in same class.

could be, i still don't know if that's led stripe or just chrome strip. i have yet to see pics of closet up pics of it lid up. regardless fsport in the US not getting any fogs by itself is enough for the argument

the reason can be as simple as the cost for comparable version and if fogs is going to push the fsport price up by another 400 bucks, that could be the breaking point from lexus perspective. again i am not saying if it makes sense or not, i am telling you how it works. this is not the first and won't be the last on how lexus operates. everything is from japan, they make a call on how things should be based on their belief and lexus usa executes.

there could be another reason, i am all ears. i am just telling what lexus insiders told me which i would put a lot more weight on. just make sure i don't hear the brilliant reason of weight saving

The fog lights don't even look that great IMO. They look like the Corolla/Camry fogs. The tri-headlights are what sets the front end apart.

Agreed...!!!

And sticking BLANK covers on the FSport further cheapens the look as well..

For example the RC F & GS F have the fogs deleted across all regions & platforms..

But at least we have a functional reason for it..

Trans Oil Cooler & Engine Oil Cooler

The reason Lexus doesn't offer those in US package because they want you to buy RX.

Well some more BAD NEWS / Good News

My good friend at Longo Lexus just sent me some pics of a 2016 BASE - GS 200t

BASE GS 200t

Fog Lamps - NO
Leather - NO (NuLuxe instead)
BSM - YES
Folding Mirrors - YES
Memory Seats - YES
ONE Large 12.3" Screen - YES

Just chrome on plastic

Apparently, to get Authentic Leather & LED Fog Lamps together..

You will need to upgrade to a "Luxury Package" on GS 350 ONLY..!!!

Bizarre...

Hahahaha!!! I told u that thing can't be fog lights!!!

The 200t just cheapens the GS all across the board!

They should just give that 200t treatment on IS and RC only and leave the GS alone! Or give us a 350t treatment instead!

The split screen is a great setup, but it's nice to have the option of a full map.

Fake leather has been around for a while. It's just now being used as the actual seating surface. We have been through this discussion.

I think using the NuLuxe in the GS, 16' would be the first time....

I forgot what Model it first debuted on (Maybe CT), but it is finding its way into the higher class Lexus line up.

In this case GS 200 t (ONLY)
