I think the 2016 4.5GS Refresh will look similar to the forthcoming GS F front and rear, but the front grill will have:
1) a blacked out center bumper bar section,
2) a vertical slat upper grill, and
3) a non-matching recessed honeycomb lower grill,
- similar to the 3IS and in particular, similar to the new RC coupe in non-F Sport models.
On the current 2015 4GS, the upper, lower and brake duct intake all use matching horizontal bar grills.
One could buy the current 2015 4GS, and use matt black paint on the center bumper section, to give it the look of one big grill, as some owners have done:
Refreshed tail lights with black voids below the L-strip?
The 2016 4.5GS Refresh will probably have the 3IS's round hub steering wheel too, though with the RC coupe's square five way buttons, rather than the 3IS's rounded 5 way buttons.
It remains to be seen if the Refresh will use the touch pad from the RC coupe, because so far, the GS F doesn't seem to have the touch pad yet...

So what you're telling me is that I should have waited to buy my GS 350.
Not at all - there is a strong possibility that I'll be going for your 2015 4GS over the 2016 4.5GS Refresh!
After all, are you sure you like the new "non-matching" vertical upper, and honeycomb lower grills?
Are you sure you like the new tail lights with the void segment below the "L"?
Are you sure you like the new rounded steering wheel with square five way navigation buttons?
What if the 2016 refresh has its vents and clock blacked out like the forthcoming GS F?
Normally, most refreshes improve on.
However, occasionally, refreshes go backwards...
That grille on the RC 350 is hideous, IMHO. If that is on the 4.5GS, then I'm at a loss for words; the F sport version would be a must. Why can't Lexus just give us the same grille shape as the F version but with slats or honeycomb or chain links to differentiate the models? Why go through the trouble and cost of fabricating these different bumpers to fit these grilles?
The tail lights look to be the same shape as the 4GS, just different design pattern, a simple swap if one doesn't like them.

The 4.5GS Refresh is definitely coming your way in autumn September 2016.
The next generation 5GS probably around March 2019, based on Lexus' 7 year model cycle.
I would be ok with Lexus just updating the style on the GSF and leaving the F-sport the way it is for a couple more years. Not a fan of the new grille, tail lights, steering wheel, and revised remote touch. I remember having an IS for a loaner and not liking the plastic trim around the steering wheel buttons because they felt very cheap trying to imitate leather-look with hard, rough plastic.
Seeing the new lease offer on F Sports makes me think we may get some significant refresh. I would wait to at least see it before making the decision. There's been a mixed feedback on the GS F but most have not seen it in person. I would wait. I'm due for a change around that time and kind of looking for something new too. Leaning more towards a different vehicle but I will wait to see first.
With no disrepect to RC F Sport owners, I have to agree with you. I was ready to trade my GS F Sport for a coupe and after I saw the RC F Sport grille in person I went straight to an Audi S5. At least it is proportionate to the RC body, but if they put that on the GS it will look really out of place.
