Stock stereo, not Mark Levinson

Anyone know the details of our stock stereo? Like the number of speakers? Brand? Wattage? etc...

Is there an external amplifier or is it built in to the "head unit"?

Does any company make a nice stealth sub box for the trunk yet? Or a replacement speaker for the subwoofer?

Has anyone made changes to their stock stereo?

 

Brand will be either Fujitsu 10/Eclipse, JBL or Pioneer.

In the in the 3GS, the "Premium" stereo system had a small amp that was positioned under the carpet in the trunk, next to the spare tire.

Should be 12 speakers...including the sub

Not sure on the wattage

 

I would like to know more about this too. My IS-F had the Levinson stereo, and the non Levinson in the GS hits harder and has a more rich sound. The only advantage the IS-F Levinson had was better imaging.

 

Whats the story with the subwoofer? Is it the speaker that's mounted on the rear deck, facing up, using the trunk as the box? Is it an 8" subwoofer?

Has anyone changed the subwoofer speaker yet?

 

I think when I was looking on TechInfo a few months ago, I saw that both the stock stereo and the ML are made by Pioneer.
