Somebody referred me to the TSB regarding the hard trunk closure issue and noticed that the TSB calls for '13 GS's. I have a '14 GS350 F-Sport and would assume post TSB builds to have the issue fixed but noticed my trunk is pretty hard to close and would have to give it a good slam to close. It also flies open too quickly when opening the trunk. I never opened or closed the trunk of a '13 GS before so I have nothing to compare. I will be bringing up the issue in my 5k service which will be many months away so I'll deal with it in the meantime. Do any '14 GS owners notice the same issue with the trunk?

Did you compare your VIN to the affected VINs? I would say that mid-2013 and forward all had the new parts from the factory...

Yeah it really doesn't do much the trunk still fly's open a milli-second slower but still fly's open.

Yea, my VIN is way past the TSB haha. My 4GS build date is 12/13, so I'm assuming it's already done.

Damn, Lexus still did not get it right even with the TSB? I as much as possible do not want them to work on my car because of past experiences. Even if I was eligible for the TSB, I'm hesitant to to let them "fix" it.

My '13's trunk opens about an inch when button is pushed.

Well the good thing is you get a full tank of gas free, so bring that sucker empty to them.

When I first got my '13 GS and was washing my car I flipped the trunk open to dry inside and it popped open so quickly my fingers got caught beneath the trunk and the backlight. It wasn't pretty, but I learned my lesson quickly.
