Questionable Dealership Tactics - Finance
I think the policies should be clearly stated and held across the board. But customers also do develop relationships from repeated purchases with dealers as I have in the past and in those cases you sometimes can get past the standard practices.
A house isn't something I get a new one of every few years. Thank God!

I picked up my LX full cash, but I had a cashiers check not a personal check. I had to do a credit app anyways, didn't make a difference to me really. It's how you are presented about it, my salesman was pretty straightforward about why I had to fill the credit app, he told me security reasons. Being business owner myself, I understand that businesses have to take measures to prevent fraud, you can't prevent all of them but I'm sure 90% can be.
When I purchased my 2011 I had ordered, I paid cash almost was trading a car in also. They accepted my $32k personal check no problem. However, during the wait for my F-Sport accessories to be installed I drove my car to carmax and they offered more so I had to get the financing because of a title issue on my car which took an out of state trip to VA DMV where I still had car titled. In NC now. But he did Lexus finance knowing I would pay it off with one payment. However, he talked me into the maintenance plan 4yrs. Because he said I could get a refund if I never used it. I asked "a full refund?" He said yes, so I said okay. But I realized after owning the car a year and it didn't have but 7500 miles I would never get to use it as first service was free and at 3yrs car has only 19650 miles so I requested it be canceled and I get a full refund at my first service. Trouble then. They said I only get $550 of the original $1900 paid. I said he'll no, I want it all I never buy that kind of crap and would not have had he not promised I could get a full refund. That is only reason I purchased it. So after a few calls and a visit, the dealership paid me the difference. Overall Lexus was by far the best car manufacture to deal with, I think per my experience with this purchase. I would buy again from same dealer if I wanted another Lexus product, new or used.
However Flow Lexus of Greensboro, NC was a total opposite experience. The suck, and didn't treat me right from the start when I is cussed ordering my car. Needless to say I went else where and the never serviced my car even though the were only 30mins away from my house, the dealer I bought from 1.5 hrs away was only one who ever touched it.

I was denied credit due to my lack of credit history. My fault for paying for everything in cash. LOL ... Anyhow, I came back with a cashier's check, manager called my bank to verify and I went to see the finance guy still. He still tried to sell me all the gap insurance, paint protection, detail package, ...etc. But I told him NO, the cashier's check is already made out. LOL

I know that 100%. The only type of extended warranty I ever get is the one that comes with purchases automatically by doubling the manufacturers warranty with my credit card. Otherwise, I don't buy them.
A product I'm buying needs to meet criteria for being above the competition and reliability. Otherwise, why am I looking at your brand? And these companies have changed it so that you are promised the world in the sales aspect and have to jump through endless hoops often when you need to use it assuming what they told you at sale was even accurate.
When I buy my cars, I even joke with them about what they are pitching. We usually end up agreeing it's silly to buy and the finance guy going I never buy these either. It's the ones that look lost that are going to get "the pitch".
