20,000 mile check up ?????
If you have your Lexus dealer perform the service, it is by definition a rip off. Look at the maintenance schedule in the book that came with your vehicle and you can either do the inspections yourself or have a mechanic you trust do the work. In my experience, mechanics at dealerships are the ones who aren't good enough/have enough experience to make it on their own.
Just typical sales call, nothing negative. Just tell them politely that you are doing fine.
If you come in for the check up, they got you hooked.
Follow your routine maintenance. However better keep records, receipts, etc.. You will need it for proof when something happens to the car and you need major repair. The burden is on you to prove that you have followed the manufacturer's recommended items on maintenance.
