Default Programming key fob to put windows down

So I just traded in my gross 2014 is 250 f-sport for my gorgeous 2013 fully loaded GS 350 =] and I was wondering if the key fobs are programmable to lower the windows the way they were in my 2014 f-sport ? I don't see why not! The dealer (Lexus of Sarasota) said they tried and they couldn't....I don't believe that :O

Yes, you can. I have the same vehicle as you and Lexus has defaulted to now having the windows default to not unlock by remote. You need to call the technology specialist at your dealer and they will usually do a one time courtesy visit to your residence and program it for you. I was on business calls and the guy came to my house and plugged into the OBD 2 port under the steering column. Connected the cable to his laptop and was there all of about 10 minutes. You can have all windows roll down in addition to including the moon roof or have the moonroof tilt up instead. Very handy on toasty days so you're not getting into a parked oven.

If they still say that they can't, I'd just locate a different dealer or contact Lexus and have them walk your dealer through the how to process. Congrats and enjoys the new sled!

If Sarasota Lexus canno do it, contact the tech specialist at Lexus of Tampa Bay or Lexus of Clearwater. As stated above, there is no reason it cannot be done.

that's a BS excuse, they have tons of resources ( i.e. another Lexus dealer ) that can walk them through the process... just print and fax... simple.

I had mine done. It is great in the summer. My moon roof slides all the way open but if I was doing it again I would have it tilt up instead. When it slides open it lets in all the sun, which is hot, and I always have a fear a bird is going to fly along at that exact moment

Trading in a 2014 IS 350 already? So how much did you lose trading in a brand new 2014 IS350?

If I had a IS250 F-sport, I would've traded it in right away too. That thing is way too slow and I'm not a fan of the styling.

To be honest that thing was a complete piece of **** compared to my GS!! You would be a fool to purchase a 250 f-sport rather than a 350 or GS 350 lol!!

I'm curious (and feel free to tell me to MYOB)...What happened at Lexus of Clearwater to give you such a negative impression? We bought my wife's CPO RX350 from them, and the service experience since the purchase has been excellent.

Now, my experience when I bought my 4GS was not quite the same, and I wound up purchasing from Lexus of Tampa Bay (worked through the GM rather than the sales staff).

But, Clearwater has treated my wife well...which counts for much in my book.

I understand different people may have different experiences with the same location - Maybe we just got lucky with the people we dealt with.

Honestly both Lexus of Clearwater and Lexus of Tampa bay treated me horribly..because I'm a 26 year old guy they think I can't afford a gs350..

The way the managers spoke to me were just quite ridiculous. The manager at Lexus of Clearwater especially was an idiot and had no care for his buyers. My mom and sister purchased an ls430 and rx from them and they will never go again...now I know why. They try to get every single dollar out of you that they can (but who doesn't right?) first time I walked in the sales guy could care less to help me look for what I wanted ( at the time it was a used gs350) and the salesmen at tampa bay were jerks...

They are both automation dealers and that could be why...while Lexus of Sarasota is not.

I could go on and on about how they couldn't assist me after I purchased my is250 f-sport and how they robbed me of my pre paid oil changes as well as my all weather mats that I purchased and other types of disorientation they have as a dealership (I.e. I was handed off by one salesman after another I until finally I landed with one individual guy)

Lexus of Sarasota gave me an unbelievable deal and I know that because I called over 10 Lexus dealerships in the states of Florida and Georgia!

One last thing about Lexus of Clearwater...their salesman syeed claims the is250 is the same size as the gs350...LOL!!! I could read right through the guy and his bull****.. Granted they gave me over 4k off msrp on the f sport they were just jerks.

Don't even get me started with Lexus of Tampa bay and two new salesmen that had no idea what they we're doing..they were trying to push a lease on me so hard..screw em!

Buyer beware do not go to Lexus of Clearwater or tampabay for sales...for service I'm not sure yet but I will give it a shot!

Lexus of Sarasota treated me 100% differently! They were willing to meet my demands and over exceed them by overthrowing incentives into the deal.
