I'm pretty sure it comes attached to the speedo. The speedo shouldn't even be that much but hey it's Lexus lol.

I think the $5K is for the whole instrument cluster - Those things are one big integrated circuit - If one part fails, they replace the whole cluster.

Had that happen on a previous car. The gas guage went bad, and the dealership replaced the whole cluster. Fortunately, it was under warranty!
