Default Automatic headlights...slow to react!

In NY area I go often through tunnels, long or short. It makes me mad to see German cars in front of me while entering a tunnel and seeing their lights going-on immediately while mine (ours) turn on, if at all, much much later!! I can't understand why!

Have you lowered the headlight sensitivity? I personally have mine on the highest setting. I love the look of the DRLs at dusk.

It's an adjustable LPS (Lexus Personalized Setting). If you have the NAV you can use the attached pdf to change that and other settings. If you don't have NAV I believe the dealer can assist you.

Yes you can adjust the sensitivity. Check out the manual under Customization section page 777.

Do you confirm that yours turn on as soon as you enter a tunnel? -mine don't at the "very light" setting (5).
Possible mine is defective...

I have mine at the middle setting and noticed that it came on about 5 secs after I entered a parking garage. Will play around more.

Why do you guys want this?!

It kills your HIDs when they are always turning ON/OFF so frequently when going through every underpass, short tunnel, or bridge!

I rather have the delay so they don't get activated so quickly!

Mine turned on even going under a bridge and immediately upon entering a tunnel .. though I had already brought one click down from most sensitive. You may want to have yours checked at the next servicing.

In my country, flashing the head light is taken the same as sounding the horn .. going under a few bridges give the same effect of flashing at the car in front .. may **** them off one of these days .. but I can't tell them it's the car not me : (

It's the taxes that makes cars so expensive in Singapore and the like. In Cambodia for example the GS350 is $120K+ USD. Taxes are equal to the price of the vehicle, and can be up to 200% the price of the vehicle on certain higher end cars. A MiniCooper is like $60K. Then you have crazy registration and road taxes. And gas is like $6+USD a gallon.
