Our software is for tablets only. For phones, I've never owned a Windows phone I liked and I've tried several. My first Apple phone was the 4S, which I still use and i like it a lot. It's the first phone I've been satisfied with. Now they need to fix it for use with our cars.

 

All I was looking for was an answer to provide to Apple on what changes need to be changed to increase the interactive experience with the navigation system.

 

They know, the profiles that are needed are specifically omitted in the iPhone, they don't want the iPhone to have that capability.Its not that it just doesn't have the functionality.

 

On Apple's feedback page,I voiced my complaints.

 

There must be some apple execs that own this car. I'd expect that to make a difference

Yeah I have to agree. I am an android guy but iPhone has waaaaay better battery life!

 

So I was driving and all of a sudden i get my very first txt while in the car. It is cool that it reads it but why can't I reply. Its lame, Lexus needs to work with apple on this. I'm sure a very high percentage of lexus owners also own iphones.

 

Must be. We sell way more software for Ipads than Android. I'd say 80% IPad. I bet it's similar for phones

 

The problem is NOT with Lexus here. Apple refuses to support MAP (Message Access Profile) for Bluetooth. Apple ONLY Supports Notifications over Bluetooth. The reason you get the text it's because Apple sends it as a notification. MAP actually gives your car access to your SMS AND EMAILS. In my car, I can read all previous SMS messages and I can reply. When using my wife's iPhone, I never see any previous messages. You guys should REALLY complain to APPLE. Apple users don't complain at all, they just embrace all their products.
