The "After Refuel MPG" resets whenever you put five or more gallons of gas in the tank.

As I understand it, the MPG after refuel is just that. When I reset right after refueling my MPG is low, like around 15-16 MPG because I'm driving in town. As I add highway miles it increases. So, it is the MPG you are getting on the latest tank of gas.

Its the average MPG you've been getting since your last refuel, while the average MPG is overall.
