I have a base model 2013 GS 350 and I wanted to know if I can add the remote engine starter. Does the car have to be equipped with this option? Does the dealer need to install a device? I just see a picture of our remote being advertised.

 

Yes it will work on your car without issue. The dealer needs to install the remote stater module in your car and also enable the functionality. Check your PM.

 

don't remember if they can program your key once you take delivery. i think it should have been an option on your window sticker. but they will install an aftermarket RS which i think is much better than the factory RS.

 

They will need to install a remote start ecu module, than they will need to sync the remote start edu module with the main ecu of the vehicle. They will then reprogram your keys to the vehicle, and that will than sync all together. It is not aftermarket, it is the Lexus Remote Start ECU module
