Default Folding/Retracting side Mirrors

Folks,

Think I'd like to add automatically folding/retracting side mirrors on my GS350 FSport. I know its a normal thing for the Euro and Asian versions, but what about US? I asked the dealer and was told that the option isn't available in Texas.

So.. any suggestions for this?

I'm in the same boat. I wish we had folding mirrors - really comes in handy when I park the car in the garage. Always trying to maneuver in and out around the trash bins!.

As a former LS430 owner, I disabled the auto-fold feature because they usually failed after a number of years of constant use. Being able to electrically fold them when needed was useful, though.

Default Retractable Mirrors

I have these on my BMW but our GS F sport does not. I push a button to fold in then at over 20 MPH or by hitting the button again they come out. The only draw back I have seen is people thinkiing they hit them and then want to pull them back by hand. It does not seem to hurt them though.

They also each have a fish eye camera in the bottom of each mirror which gives you an around the car view with the rear camer. Called birds eye as it seem like you are looking down on the car. That really helps in tight spaces. Now that is an item I wish Lexus offerered the most.

Sadly it's true. You could buy the powered versions from Europe (to match the left hand drive bias) but it would be a bit tricky. You would need to figure out how to wire the unit to your car. You would also need to buy a new mirror controller as it has the detent to operate manually or go full auto upon starting or stopping the car.
