Opened my trunk yesterday...it was 66 degrees F and cloudy. Noticed as the trunk opened that I was hearing a very noticeable creaking sound. At first I didn't know where it was coming from, then I pushed on the trunk mounted taillights it was very obvious it was the plastic creaking against the trunk.
I have the same problem with mine, the dealership did have a quick look at it and put some sort of lubrication around the light, it solved the problem for a couple of days, but the creek soon came back with a vengeance, ill put up for it for a while and then will have to book it in for then to have another look.
Chris,
So did the dealer fix it again since it came back ?

Yes as mentioned above they removed the tail light and re felted it, unfortunately this only solved the problem for a week or so and the noise was back, however about a month later the squeaking disappeared and for the past 2 months it has been fine, I am just wondering if it is temperature related, I will see if it returns in the colder weather.
It's 100 degrees here today and sure enough, my right side does it too. I thought it was the hinge at first (natural, logical thing) but nope, like you guys said, it's the light assembly. Pushing on it creaks.
Since the car is a week old I figure the dealer will be glad to see me again anyway.
