Default Cooling / Heating on 13 GS350

The heating / cooling seats on the new GS seem to reset every time you turn off the car. My old ES350 and RX350 both keep whatever the last setting was.

Anyone experience this or know of a fix?

The dial-style seat heating/cooling controls seem to retain their settings. All of the momentary push-button style controls seem to revert to off. I don't know of a way to override this action.

The way they built it like that. I dont think we can change this.

This. My Infiniti G had dials that kept constant heat. The 4GS seems to shut down the heat every 10 to 15 mins. Stupid if you ask me....

3GS was dials as well. As the other thread has noted, you can have your dealership service department change the heat setting so that it stays on until you turn the car off, or you turn the heat off yourself.

I would actually like the heat/cool seat to turn off after I get out of the car.

Have your dealer turn off or override the feature. I complained to my dealer and initially they said it cannot be done, but they looked into it and found a way. I have mines ON all the time until I turn off the car. then when you start the car up, you have to press it on again, but it will stay on until you turn it off yourself or turn off your car.

Thats because its good! You don't want to waste energy and forget to turn one off (passenger, rear) etc when using the cooling/heating feature. My BMW and Mercedes do it too.

You are right! but it is pretty annoying when you have to keep pressing the button every 15 minutes when you want it on all the time. It just makes more sense to allow the user the option to leave it on or off. I guess this is only annoying for those who actually use this feature a lot, like I do.

i want my IS220d to work the same way, but it is dial so it stays... since weather changes all the time, i would preffer for it to not stay at the last setting.

I agree. Living in Southeast Michigan, we get fluctuating temperatures from mid-50s to mid-80s in Spring that are very common these days so one day I will need heater and other day like today I want cooling so I do not have to turn off the heat and then turn on the cooling. Its more convenient to have system reset every time you start the car.

To me, the only advantage of having the heated/cooled settings remain on for the next time I start the car would be if I had a remote start. Getting into an already running car with a cooled or heated seat waiting for me is truly luxurious.

It does reset every time you turn off your car with the fix.

In my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland, the remote start combines with the temperature sensor. If it's cold out (I don't know the specific temp) the remote start turns on the heated seats and when it's warm, it'll start the cooled seat function.
