Default Any smells?

I was wondering if any of the new GS owners have any sulfur smells., I had them with my first year GX and my 2007 GS. I am afraid to get the new GS since Lexus keeps on telling me that' they can't do anything about the smell.

Default No Smells

Smells like new car in and out. No smell like sulfur. Maybe you were close to a volcano? lol

That would be the smell of the new catalytic converter breaking in. It will go away after it has been driven for awhile.

I have never smelled this odor on a "new" car. More so on the older GM cars I used to drive as a teenager.

What gas brand do you use? Have you tried switching?

I have tried all different brands. I had the smell for two years and Lexus came out with a SB and it corrected the problem for a few years but the smell is back again.

Default smells

i've had the car for one week. today i got the smell, took it right to lexus. was told the car (GS) is breaking in, and that it's normal. everything has some type of spray seal, belts, hoses etc. but it's coming from under the hood. lifted the hood and the smell hit me. it wasn't overpowering it was just the smell. was told it would go away.

I never understood why Toyota and Lexus all have this bad gas smell when pushed a bit heavy on the roads or highways. I smell my GS and RX do this under heavy acceleration and even when driving behind some Toyotas and Lexus they stink at times and you can say that they are pushing the engine a bit high. Never with other brands including my german cars. I wonder if Lexus cataylst convertor is not good and if it is a characteristic of it. I dislike this smell but its rare for me and only under heavy driving before pulling into the garage.

I don't see how you could possibly smell your exhaust when driving hard... by definition you are leaving the exhaust behind you right away. Are you sure it's not hot brakes?

Trust me, my smell came back and sometimes it comes in the cabin. I have had this with the GX and the GS AFTER the breaking in period. Doesnt matter what gas I use.
