According to Lexus the official weight of the IS-F is 3,780lbs. Add the Joe-Z Intake/Exhaust combo and the IS-F is roughly give or take around 445+hp. The GS-F would have to be at 500+hp to separate the two classes. Any word of maybe turbocharging or supercharging like Audi?

This was another rendering I think done by Road and Track..of a GS-F for this gen....

1Sicklex, this is the picture:

I had to find it at this thread: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...g-19-a-36.html

Granted now I can see that it is not exactly the same as what was released, but if you read this old thread from way back in 2004 you will see several people mention (not just myself) that the 3rd Gen GS looked like that spy photo, which when it was posted everyone jumped on saying it would never look remotely like that.

Interesting, you learn something new everyday...I do think though that pic seems not to be official, rather it is a 4ES chop.

Wow, I remember that pic! If I remember we knew it was an ES photshop with quad headlights.

Good memory!

Thanks, but it took me two friggin' days to find that photo as I could not locate that thread for the life of me. I'm sure it is an ES mocked up, but it certainly had some similarities to what was actually released.

I really do hope the new GS comes out SICK, as I have always had a soft spot for the GS.

Lightbulb Road & Track: Lexus GS-F rumored for 2011 or 2012 debut

Lexus GS-F: A Hot Future Sedan to Take On the BMW M5
February 17, 2010 by Sam Mitani

http://blog.roadandtrack.com/lexus-g...on-the-bmw-m5/

It’s no secret that the name “M” and “AMG” possess a mystical quality to car enthusiasts. As the factory-tuner divisions of BMW and Mercedes-Benz, respectively, these monikers have come to represent the pinnacle of high-performance luxury. Well, it seems that Toyota wants to join the game.

G Sports is a new brand that Toyota is trying to establish; however, with the current recall fiasco, those plans may be on hold temporarily. Among the projects under the G Sports (or G’s) umbrella is a new performance sedan called the GS-F. The new car will be a souped-up version of the Lexus GS sedan, in the way the IS-F is to the IS. The car is expected to come with a slightly detuned version of the 4.8-liter V-10 powerplant from the LFA or a new 5.0-liter V-8. Either way, the car will possess in the neighborhood of 500 bhp, and go straight at BMW’s M5. Will this car ever see the light of day? Unless Toyota finds someway to ride out the current mess it’s in now, the chances may not be so good. Our sources tell us that the car was scheduled for a 2011 or 2012 debut, with a price of around $70,000 to $80,000.
I thought G Sports was supposed to be a new thing, while Lexus F has to do with the IS-F, LFA etc? Well perhaps they are connected in some way. I hope that discussion of recall issues affecting development is just rumor, after all Toyota announced approval of FT-86 production only last week or so.

Not even going to believe any type of rumors like this. You know it's not even solid information if they don't even know if they're going to use the LFA's v10 or ISF's v8. And we all know that Lexus did not plan to use the LFA's v10 in future cars, only to use the research, innovation and technology.

Nothing here hasn't already been said before in theoretical threads started by members here.

I'm just hoping they actually come out with a GS-F. Isn't that rendering just a slightly modified IS-F front attached to a GS rear, joined at the warped "kink" near the B-pillars?

Never happen anytime soon. Toyota corp needs to first regroup before putting out a car with minimal market potential. They have other priorities to deal with first.
