A SC-F would make more sense seeing if an LFA engine cost $60k and the SC would be the same... A $120K SC-F with 552 hp and make it a true 2+2... The SC-F could go up against at 612 and it be 1/3rd the price.

GS-F would cost more than a E63/65 and M5 and RS6 :/ But Lexus can do anything so I'll shut up lol

Hopefully the GS F doesn't cost too much more than a comparable M5. The IS F is priced comparable to the M3.

M3 doesn't come loaded the same as the IS-F

 

yup, similarly loaded isf is cheaper than m3

 

whether or not the GS F comes into play, its great to hear that lexus is creating a brand that will surely compete against the M and AMG. the "F" is fresh, new, exciting. sure M and AMG have the heritage and race-inspired trial and errors to create leaders in the sport performing segment, but those of a newer generation might be swaying towards the F brand. personally, the IS F and LFA have laid the groundwork for what should be an incredible first decade for the F brand. if the GS F is created, ideally weight and cost will be its biggest factors. as stated by others in this thread, hp is important, but not the sole factor. it's going to be interesting how lexus adds the F performance into the GS.

 

Just to clarify, the MSRP listed by Yahoo is based off a standard ISF with no options...which is non-existent unless you special order this. Since it's very unlikely to get invoice pricing on a special order car, that amount is not a good indicator. MSRP of ISF's usually at dealers now is roughly around $62 to 63k.

 

why exactly would Japanese customer chose Lexus GS over these, i do not know ;-).
Hopefully abudance of leather and wood will continue in 2011 GS.

 

That looks like the Sepia leather color offered in the new GX. Very nice, but overall I like the design of the GS a lot more than the Crown.

 

yeah, but look at the wealth of leather and wood inside. leather is everywhere, a lot more leather and wood than on my GS (which has great interior btw)... there is barely plastics anywhere to be seen.

 

look at the leather seats in Athlete version... GS350 starts at 5.5M yen...cheapest IS250 is 4M.... Athlete is between 3.5M and 5.5M.

No wonder Crown series outsells all luxury manufacturers in Japan.
