Default 2013 GS350 power issue

I have a 2013 GS 350 and I'm having power issues, would appreciate any advice or knowledge anyone can share.

Short version - replaced battery, dash lights come on once connected, when I try to start it all goes black and no power at all

Longer version
I replaced the battery in my GS back in April - it appeared to take it just fine, started up, etc. For various reasons, I let it sit for a while and when I tried to start up again I couldn't get it going without a jump. I could jump it, drive somewhere, park it overnight, and in the morning it would be dead again. I put it off for a few months but finally this week I took the battery back to autozone to have it checked. Battery determined to be bad so they gave me a replacement.

I just installed the replacement battery and it appeared to be working - all the lights came on, the dash lit up, it appeared ready to start. But when I tried to start it everything just went black. All the lights turned off and pushing the start button does nothing. I tried disconnecting the battery and reconnecting and the exact same thing happened again.

Any clue what's going on? The battery is good so I assume there's some other electrical issue, but no idea where to start or what it is (I'm not knowedgeable). Thanks for any help.

What is the exact stock number type of the Autozone battery you got?

Use your volt meter to see the battery condition or take it in to be tested.
Put your jump box on and see what happens.
Sounds like a poor connection, possible from a corroded terminal?

Good luck.

I got it going! Checked the simple stuff and apparently had a slightly loose positive cable connection, that and what I think is maybe a ground cable clip off of the negative cable was loose. Whichever of those, it’s going now.

probably overreacted with the initial post, but I had big fear in my head from prior new battery not working

thanks for the replies!

Loose this and loose that and something else fell off - well damn, somebody did a shitty job of replacing and checking his work!
