A1 is shorter than A3.
And A3 and A5 are the same except A5 has plastic plug.
OEM A1 comes with a plastic plug, a small o ring and a large o ring (and the element of course)
And at least for 2018, 6 qt of oil for RWD and 6.8 qt for AWD (with filter)
Changed the oil on my 18 recently and this is the level it shows when adding the recommended 6 quarts. On my 14 RX it requires 6.1 quarts and the level is full on the dip stick.
I owned a 2015 and a 2020 GS350. Both are Fsport RWD. Both are being serviced at the Lexus dealer for free under the Lexus CPO. Once the warranty runs out, then I'll service the vehicle myself.
Last night, I tried to purchase a few maintenance items at BellLexus and the oil filters threw me a big curveball!
What I found out is:
2013-2015 uses A3 and A5 oil filter.
2016-2018 uses A1, A3 and A5 oil filter
2019-2020 uses A1 and A5 oil filter
This doen't make sense at all unless the BellLexus database is incorrect!
I knew the A1 filter is shorter than A5, so if the 2020 GS calls for the A1 filter, then the A5 will not fit since it's too long. However, if the 2020 GS calls for the A5 filter, then the A1 will fit since it is shorter, but it will not filter the oil.
Therefore I posted the question for whomever changes their own oil. So far, I only see two who change their own oil.
If anyone is interested, I had the engine oil and filter changed today in my 2018 GS450h by my Lexus dealer. The oil filter used today as well as previous oil changes is the 04152-YZZA3 filter - and always with 7 quarts of 0W20 oil, plus a new crush washer.
@EAST - Here's the information from the service paperwork regarding my oil change, showing the 04152-YZZA3 oil filter and the 7 quarts of 0W20 GTMO 'Toyota Genuine Motor Oil' (Made by Mobil 1 for Toyota/Lexus).
Here's the information from the 2018 GS 450h owners manual regarding the engine oil capacity for my 2018 GS 450h RWD.

@EAST - I think the above that I have bolded red is not unconditionally accurate as I have demonstrated with my recent oil filter change at my Lexus dealer with information about the A3 oil filter for my GS 450h RWD... Also, my GS 450h takes 6.8 (7) quarts of oil with filter, not just 6 quarts.
