Hey everyone, I’m new to Lexus and Toyota, love my car, 2014 GS350 AWD, I purchased it a couple months ago, about a week after purchase I noticed the driver side headlight was flickering, so I came on here and read some posts about replacing the bulb and ballast, so I went ahead and replaced both, bulb and ballast, I got the ballast off Amazon for $50, looked almost identical to the OEM Toyota branded one and I got some D4S 6k bulbs, it worked great for about two weeks, then I noticed it would take about 1-2mins to actually turn on and light up, passenger side headlight (still OEM) works perfect still, well now my driver side headlight will not come on at all. I tried turning the headlights on and then off and then back on (worked last week to get the driver side headlight to turn on) now it will not come on at all. Should I try another ballast? Another bulb? Should I have bought OEM ballast? Not sure if these cars are finicky with aftermarket electrical stuff. Any help and insight would be appreciated.

 

I would always use OEM stuff when it comes with HID.

 

Flickering is just about always just needing a new Bulb only. Now sure where you read about ballast replacement also? I have not seen any ballast replacement problems. I would put back in the old ballast, see what happens with the new bulb.
