Deciding between Carlinkit & Beatsonic
I have a 2014 Gs350 F sport. I keep reading about these two brands, i know beatsonic is more popular but i dont see any cons about carlinkit. Whats the difference between these? I wouldn’t mind paying more for bestsonic if it actually performs better.
As far as I know, Carlinkit only makes a bluetooth dongle type conversion unit that allows you to connect wirelessly to a car that has wired Apple Car Play. Beatsonic makes a total replacement dashboard unit that incorporates Car Play. The wireless converter is only about $60. I never priced a Beatsonic unit, but it is at least 10-20x more, because you're replacing the entire audio/nav unit. There are threads that go into great detail on the Beatsonic and other conversions that you may want to check out.
I see commonly the BS has bad call audio quality , but I want to know which unit is better on music sound quality. And if I can use AUX/BT whenever I want. Also want to know if on either I can still access the original settings when wanting to.
As an audiophile, the better sounding unit is the one I will go with, and the deciding factor in if I will upgrade to Carplay. If it reduces sound quality . Want an uninterrupted signal to be played through the sound system . Any dip in quality I’ll notice and regret.
If anyone has an answer would love to know !
@Boombai - Have you considered Grom VLine 2?
I see you're located in Texas. Grom Audio is located in Plano, Texas, a suburb of Dallas. If you're close to Dallas - you might consider having them do the installation for you.

I have BeatSonic in GS and GROM in my RX. BeatSonic did not have a solution for my RX. And my use is limited to CarPlay.
You would get a more fair comparison for identical vehicles.
Both products are expensive and have good-excellent support.
I found them to make honest claims in capabilities and issues/difficulties/problems. So read them carefully.
Keep in mind they are both after market products. IN my case the GROM for my RX is slightly more quirky and I can not hold it against GROM as they stated the disclaimer.
