Wattage for non LM Amplifier
So I’m sure a lot of you guys have been through this already but I couldn’t find the thread after searching a couple of hours. My factory amp went on me out of nowhere and I don’t want to pay the 600 plus dollars to get it fixed. Are there any suggestions to an aftermarket amp I can buy instead? I’m riding in a 4gen gs350 with navigation. I already contacted clutchfield and they need the wattage for my current factory amp. I know it’s running at 4 ohms mostly and 1 2.5 ohms speaker and has a 13.2 voltage. May sound redundant but I appreciate the help in advance.
I believe both units will fit the 2015GS. You can verify with the attached link below
86280-0WA10 is 900 W unit
86280-0WD80 is 1200 W unit

You probably have to take a peek at the amp to see which model you have.

Be that as it may, I'll bet that's 2400w peak, and I'm sure
1. You're not going to be listening to something that loud continuously
2. They have capacitors in the car/amp that will assist with the load when (or if, cause it's an LS) the deep tones hit.
I had 6ga in a car long ago with 1600w peak out of two subs in my trunk long ago. Stock alternator. Gigantic capacitor inline with feeding both amps.
Zero problems set up like that for about 3+ years before I sold the car. I played everything through it. Without the capacitor I had obvious voltage drop and the amps would kick off on undervoltage. 60amp fuse, popped the 60 and 75amp fuses a couple times before the capacitor. Never could pop it after that no matter how high I turned them up.
Also with the car running it'll be about 13.5v, hence it'll be more like 177 if we're getting fickle.
