Hello, CL I recently tried installing subs, amp, and loc into my 2015 GS 350 non-ML. I am having trouble with the loc, it powers the amp on but doesn't show red on itself.
The equipment I'm using is JL 12w7, JL 750/1, and LC2i audio control.
I have t-tapped the subwoofer on the stock amp (pins 6 and 21) (located in the passenger rear trunk) and plugged it into the loc speaker wire. As well as jumped the wires. For the 12v, I t-tapped it to the white wire on the stock amp (pictured below). It is grounded to the same ground as the amp. If i remove any speaker wire or power wire from the LOC, the amp will shutoff, also, if I unplug the connector holding all the wires and re plug it in, the power and maximizer will blink on then off.
I know its not the best job, I am still very new to this and it is my first time ever doing it. Please input any suggestions on how I could fix this. white single wire is where it is tapped for the 12v. The black and blue wire are tapped into the subwoofer The vehicle is on, so it the amp, but this doesnt show anything (I have moved the rca cables to the bass side)
Have you tried changing the GTO setting? It looks like it switches between "sensing" and relying on a trigger.
I haven't used that LOC, but I have a little Kicker 46HS10 that also had power sensing. I couldn't get the sensing to work on this car, so I turned it off and I think I used the white wire you used as the trigger wire.
Either way, it looks like from this site that you should be powering the unit from battery not from the amp trigger wire. Then if the power sensing doesn't work, then use that trigger wire as Remote input (after you change the jumper setting as in the pictures). https://www.audiocontrol.com/knowled...n-on-the-lc2i/
I'm sure you cleaned it up, but please make sure to tape up that Ttap to the white wire. It looks like the spade connector is exposed and could short on body ground.
I wouldn't recommend to power this off the factory amp wire, I would get a inline blade fuse and jump it off the aftermarket amp power.
is the issue here that the LC2i isnt turning on? double check that the Ground and trigger wires are secure as well. but if your Amp is turning on fine then its probably just the 12v you are using from the factory amp or the trigger isnt working.
Also like EAST said double check the Trigger setting, the GTO signal sensing function doesnt work that great on these so set this jumper to Bypass and jump the trigger from the aftermarket amp straight to the LC2i
